Term 2, Week 6

Room 4 Newsletter:  Term 2, Week 6

Sunday 24th May, 2015

Well done to all the Room 4 children braving the cold weather to play their weekend sport. I trust all well on the court, field and turf!

Upcoming dates:
*Wednesday 27th May – Maths PD for staff throughout the day.
*Thursday 28th May – SWIMMING – Session 5, 10.10 – 11.15 am.
*Friday 29th May – Assembly 2.10 pm led by Room 4.
*Monday 1st June – Queen’s Birthday. School closed.
*10th-12th June – Catholic Convention, Wellington.

Homework
I am getting lots of feedback and messages through the homework calendar, the children seem to very attentive to it which is great. All students will have journals or texts coming home this week, as well as extra maths and spelling for those who have asked for it.

Sacramental Programme
Because of Queen’s Birthday this coming weekend, there will NOT be a liturgy session at Mass for the Reconciliation Children (that is Sunday 31st May). Father Pat will of course still love to see you at Mass if you are in Alexandra for the long weekend. J

Assembly this week
Room 4 is leading assembly this week, on Friday at 2.10 pm. The children will be presenting the posters they have been working on as part of our reading and social science programme. They have developed many skills including research, writing, reporting and presenting, not to mention teamwork, co-operation, and sharing the iPads! They will also present a piece of art, and maybe even sing and dance. J

Snow Farm
I have made initial contact with the Snow Farm regarding our upcoming Year 3/4 camp in Term 3. I look forward to sorting out some dates and getting our planning underway.

Speaking of snow, I hope you’re all keeping warm… lots of whispers about snow, storms, and all sorts of weather. We’ll see.

Regards, Markelle Ward   J
