PTA meeting

URGENTLY NEEDED FOR THE FAIR
There is a PTA meeting this Tuesday 1 August.  We have a very small PTA this year and in order for the fair in October to be successful, we desperately need some more parents involved.  This does not mean that you will be coerced onto the PTA, but rather that you are helping with some aspect of the fair.  If you feel that you would be able to help, please come along to the PTA meeting this Tuesday, or contact a parent rep from your class.
It is important that one parent rep from each class attends the PTA meetings so that you are able to update other parents.

Sunday 23rd July, 2017

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone. I hope you have managed to keep warm and keep well. There are lots of bugs still going round. We will have plenty of hand sanitiser in Room 4 so keep the healthy habits going. J

I look forward to hearing all the holiday news this week. Here are some photos of Adam and I with Celia, Jess and Ed up at the Cardrona Ski Field.

Ski Day 2017:
Remember our Year 3 & 4 Ski Day is Thursday 31st August so start finding or borrowing any good snow-proof gear you will need. Information about our Ski Day will come very early in the term. Mark the date for our Ski Day on your calendar if you are interested in joining us.

Year 5 Ski Camp: Monday – Wednesday 21st-23rd August:
Your preparations are well underway. Please ensure medical forms are brought into me as soon as possible so that staff are well aware of all possible medications that will be required.

All reports for Room 4 students should have been received by post at the beginning of the holidays. If you haven’t received this, please let me know as soon as possible. Bookings for Parent Interviews can now be made for next week.

Room 3 & 4 Ski Day to the Snow Farm:
It has been decided that due to obstacles regarding accommodation in Wanaka, we are going to commit to one full day’s ski-ing at the Snow Farm on the 31st August, returning that evening. We have pencilled in a reserve day for Friday 1st September in the event of poor weather. A parent meeting for our Ski Day will be held early in Term 3.

Room 4 Reports:
I have completed all reports for Room 4 students. These will be signed off by Mrs Flannery and posted out by the end of term. Parent interviews will be held in Week 2 of Term 3. Please make sure you get in early and make a time to meet, so goals and next-steps for your child can be discussed.

Room 3 & 4 Exodus Walk to the Promised Land:
What a great journey we had to the Promised Land (and back) on Friday afternoon. The weather held for us nicely, and God even sent the sun to meet us at our destination. Thank you Mr Hogue for playing the role of Moses (and doing it so well) and thank you to the parents who joined us, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you for a great term everyone. We have had a busy time of fun and learning and your children are little treasures. Have a wonderful and safe holiday.
God bless. Markelle Ward J
