Term 4, Week 4

Room 4 Newsletter:  Term 4, Week 4

Sunday 1st November, 2015

Welcome to Week 4. Thank you to all those who supported Saturday evening’s Light Party, especially given that the weather conditions deteriorated! I heard a lot of feedback that was very positive, and there looked to be a huge number of very well-engaged children.  I will pass on to the organisers that it was a big success.

Upcoming dates:

*Monday 2nd NovemberAll Souls Day: Whole School Liturgy at the cemetery, leaving at 1.30 pm. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL STUDENTS WEAR SUN HATS. Parents welcome. Flowers may be brought to school for children to place on graves. Children will have the opportunity to write the name of a loved one on a piece of card or paper in class on Monday morning, and each class will present their basket of name cards for special prayers during the liturgy.

*Tuesday 3rd November – Morning:  Subject to weather and the Thyme Festival Programme schedule,  Room 3 and 4 will be walking to Pioneer Park on Tuesday morning to view Thyme Festival activities. Any available parents who could assist us would be greatly appreciated. Details will be confirmed in class on Monday morning.

*Tuesday is also Central Otago Athletics Day.

*Wednesday 4th November: Thyme Festival:  Lunch-time concert at Pioneer Park 12 – 1 pm. The whole school will be heading down to the park for lunch prior to the concert. Do try and come to hear the songs… ours are coming along very nicely!

*Friday 6th November: Friday Mass 12 noon led by Room 4. Assembly 2.10 pm led by Room 1.

*Sunday 8th November – School Fair: 10 am – 2 pm. Everything is in full swing for our School Fair. What a huge week we have ahead of us!
