Room 4 Newsletter: Term 2, Week 10
Sunday 3rd July, 2016.
Well done to those who participated in the role play,
readings, and prayers of the faithful at the Family Mass on Saturday evening.
Dani, Rhianna, Joshua, Adam and David – your parents should be very proud of
you! A big thank you to Roly for writing the role play and preparing the
children to lead it… we are lucky to have these extra opportunities to share
our skills and our time.

Student-led
Interviews:
The children are invited
to join you for the teacher interviews this week so that they can share the
goals they have come up with in all areas of their learning.
Kys Family:
It is with some sadness
but lots of excitement that we farewell Nicolas Kys from Room 4 at the end of
this week. The Kys family are moving to Singapore. A big and challenging
adventure is in store. We wish you a safe and happy transition to your new country
and your new school, Nicolas. We know you and your family will keep us
up-to-date with progress. We will pray for you all.
Frans du Plessis:
We also continue to
remember Frans in our prayers as he perseveres through treatment for his
illness. We have updated our google doc to Frans with lots of photos of George
and all his outings with Room 4 students. Jayne Battrick is able to share this
document with Frans when she teaches him, and he is able to occasionally share
his learning with us.
Sacrament of First
Reconciliation:
Congratulations to those
who undertook the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday evening. This was a
very special celebration, led by Father Pat and Father Martin Flannery. The
next day in class we discussed the feelings the children experienced throughout
the sacrament. They used the words “nervous, excited, scared, then excited,
blessed, holy, proud, better”. One said they felt like ‘a priest’, and ‘like
Jesus’. We all agreed that most of these feelings added up to us definitely experiencing
a ‘graced moment’ in our faith journey, with the Holy Spirit helping us.
Poetry Eisteddfods: I trust you are ready to
roll with your poetry eisteddfods. The practices have certainly been fun with
lots of reading of limericks, tongue-twisters and verse. Well done.
Thank you for a great term
everyone. Regards, Markelle Ward J
