Welcome back to school for 2018!
I hope you have all had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed (or just really HOT) and ready for the new school year ahead.
My name is Claire Dwyer and I am new to St Gerard's this year. I will be teaching in Room 4 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the lovely Bridget Chamberlain will be in on Thursday and Friday.
About Me (Mrs Dwyer)
I am so excited about starting at St Gerard's and getting to know the school and parish community. I am Catholic and will be doing the Director of Religious Studies role at St Gerard's too. I have a husband, Daniel and two beautiful children, Chloe (3) and Malachy (1) my children both go to First Steps and have settled in well. I am originally from Auckland but after getting married we lived in Kaiapoi, North Canterbury for 3 years before moving to Cromwell.
Homework
There will be no homework this week, these first few days the children will be learning new routines and getting to know their new teachers and class.
Library
I'm currently discussing with Alexandra library about organising a fortnightly trip to the public library. If you could please get your child joined up to the library, that would be much appreciated. You can do this online or by going into the library, you do need to supply photo ID as the parent/guardian. I will let you know the day when I have finalised this.
Important Dates for this week
Thursday 1st February - the children will be going to the pools in the afternoon for swimming.
