Term 2, Week 3

Room 4 Newsletter:  Term 2, Week 3

Sunday 3rd May, 2015

Welcome to Week 3. Everyone did very well with their first Thursday of swimming – the children were very focused. It would be good for them to set their own personal goal for swimming this term, since 8 sessions is enough to make significant progress.

Upcoming dates:
*Wednesday morning – Room 4 will have Mr Hogue for Science while I am on CRT release time.
*Hockey Lesson 2 – Wednesday afternoon 2.15 – 2.55 pm with Mrs Flannery.
*Swimming again this Thursday (for 8 Thursdays in total).
*Sunday 10th May, 9 am, School Mass. Mother’s Day. School uniform please.
*Hockey Tournament – Wednesday afternoon 13th May.
*Michael Mangan visit – Friday 15th May.

Craft:
I have approached some of the Catholic Women’s League ladies in our parish regarding coming to Room 4 to join us for some craft activities. Deirdre Jolly and Mary Blyth will be happy to lead this, and they have lots of materials including knitting and crochet needles, wool and so on. I look forward to booking them in and making a start on this soon. Watch this space!

Reports:
Nearly all of the Year 3’s have now received reports in line with their birthdays. I will now begin testing all Year 4 students (reading, maths and writing) in preparation for their half-year reports due next month.

Sacramental Programme:
Thank you to all those who attended Thursday evening’s Parent night. For those who didn’t receive a Reconciliation Booklet, these have now arrived and I will send one home with any children who missed out. Please note that there is a cost of $11.50 for this booklet, which can be paid to Margaret at the office as soon as possible. Only one booklet per family is necessary.

Lost Property:
The clothing is piling up again in Room 4. Please stop by and check the “green box” for any missing items. There were about four pairs of shoes left behind after the Hockey Session last week – the kids must be missing these by now. J

Have a great week.

Regards, Markelle Ward   J
