Term 2, Week 2

Room 4 Newsletter:  Term 2, Week 2

Monday 27th April, 2015

What moving services the ANZAC events were all around the world. Well done to all those St. Gerard students who participated in our local services, they were very powerful and truly allowed us to “remember” those who have died and gone before us. Room 4 will continue to reflect on New Zealand at the time of World War 1 and 2 through our reading and social science programme this term.

Upcoming dates:
*Thursday 30th April – Parent Night for children beginning the Sacramental Programme, 7 pm at Father Pat’s house.
*Assembly this Friday, 2.10 pm, led by Room 1 & 2.
*Sunday 10th May, 9 am, School Mass. This is also Mother’s Day.
*Hockey Tournament – Wednesday afternoon 13th May
*Michael Mangan visit – Friday 15th May.

Hockey Sessions starting this week:
Mrs Flannery will be leading hockey rotations throughout the three weeks. Room 4 is scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon 29th April at 2.15 pm, Wednesday 6th May at 2.15 pm, and Monday 11th May at 2.15 pm. Children could bring gymshoes and P.E. gear on those days. If the times change I will do my best to give the children as much notice as possible.

Have a great week.

The big dig

The Big Dig

The St Gerards Enviro group has been planning towards developing an organic vegetable garden. We’ve visited other gardens, shared our ideas and been given advice from other gardeners. The time has now arrived to turn the first soil! We will be digging the garden beds this coming week and we would love to see anyone who is keen and able to help us out.

Where: Meet at the garden, behind the PE shed.

When: 1245pm Wednesday 29th April

What to bring: Spades, shovels, gloves…any spares would be appreciated also.

We’d love to see you there and will be thankful for any help we can get!

Thanks

The Enviro group
