Last week of term:
We’re all taking one day at a time as the term rolls to a rapid close. We have our School Garden session tomorrow with Sue, during which we will be composting and planting. School musical practices will happen on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. And with athletics training and eisteddfods thrown in there, it will be a very busy week to finish with. Please encourage your child to collect up as many personal belongings as possible to take home.
I trust you all have a wonderful spring break, and enjoy the time with your families.

Thank you for a great term.

Term 3, Week 8

Room 4 Newsletter:  Term 3, Week 8

Sunday 11th September, 2016.

Thank you all for your support for our camp, it was a huge success. Hopefully the children were full of positive experiences on their return, and hopefully their toothbrushes had been used! A big exercise in self-management.

To see the iMovie of all our adventures, please try and join us for assembly at 2.10 on Friday in the hall. You should be very proud of your children.

Important dates coming up:
*School Photos: Monday 12th September. Room 4’s photo will be about mid-morning. Please come to school in tidy uniform, and have sports team gear available too.
*Parent night for Confirmation: This Thursday 15th Sept, 7 pm at Father Pat’s.
*Sunday 18th September – 9 am Mass: Sacrament of Confirmation.

My Migration Story:
This week is Social Justice Week, and the focus is on being aware that we all have a migration story. For homework, please discuss with your child where their grandparents or great-grandparents came from. We are going to make a big class poster comparing the foods and customs of those countries of origin, with the foods and customs in New Zealand.

Eisteddfods:
This term we are presenting songs for Eisteddfods. Please encourage your child to choose an appropriate song, and practise singing this at home. There will also be plenty of opportunities to practise it in class this week, and classroom presentations will be at the beginning of Week 9.

Have a great week.
