Choice of book?
The children have brought home a book or books of their choice from approximately the level they are at. If the book is tricky, please help them to read it, and let me have some feedback. It is important their reading books at home are fun and engaging so they can read them independently.
Thanks,
Markelle.
PS... have a great morning at the swimming sports tomorrow:)

HOMEWORK
Now
that we have settled into our classroom routines, there will be a reading and
maths component added to the homework sheet, as well as a small publishing
task. Homework should be ‘moderately’ challenging rather than a burden so don’t
be shy about feeding back to me regarding individual needs.
- Reading
Please
sign their Home Reading Log when each
book is completed. The children can return their browser book(s) with their
homework book on a Thursday. It is important that each browsing book is
returned to class before another one is sent home. If you would like
your child to have extra reading books for weekends, please let me know.
- A maths task appropriate to your child’s level will come home in their homework book.
- Publishing - I have selected a small section of your child’s story for publishing. As discussed at the Parent evening, some occasional support with typing up your child’s written work at home would be greatly appreciated. Please assist them on your computer (or iPad) to name, type and save their work, then email it to me. Use a Size 24 Arial font (or similar). They should only spend 10 or 15 minutes on this, and it is okay for you to help them as the writing has been marked. No pressure, but it would be great to have their published work up on the wall in the next fortnight. J
