Sacramental Programme –
First Reconciliation:
The beginning
of Term 2 is traditionally the time that we begin the Sacramental Programme.
This programme consists of three of the sacraments of Initiation into the
Catholic faith – Reconciliation (or Penance or Forgiveness); Confirmation; and
First Holy Communion. In our school, the programme is available to all students
from Year 4, and is conducted mostly through the Parish. If you have questions
about the Sacramental Programme please do not hesitate to call Father Pat, Mrs
Eastwood, or myself. Registration papers are available from Father Pat now, and
the first parent and child meeting is 7 pm, Thursday 12th May (Week
2 of Term 2) at Father Pat’s house. At that meeting Father Pat discusses with
the parents what the Sacrament of Reconciliation is, while I work with the
children in another room. There follows a programme of instruction for the
children at Sunday liturgy for four Sundays, the exact dates for these will be
advised. A booklet is required for each family to support each stage of the
programme at a cost of approximately $11.50 (Reconciliation) and $15.00
(Confirmation and First Holy Communion).
Book return:
Please make sure that all library books,
journals, and reading books are returned to school this week. Because the
library is now being set up as a permanent classroom, it is even more important
that all books are accounted for.
Have a great week.
Regards, Markelle Ward J
